Covering an area of 3,127km2, the Sunshine Coast is rapidly emerging as Queensland's leading investment hotspot.
And with over 200km of coastline and over 13,000 hectares of parks and bush land, it's easy to see why. With its sun soaked days and strikingly beautiful landscape, it attracts more than 2.5 million domestic and over 270,000 international visitors per annum. And it's only set to rise.
The Sunshine Coast's economic indicators are well above the state average. Average annual growth in the region (1996-2006) was 3.4% in comparison to Queensland's 2.1%. The estimated resident population for the area has now reached 300,000 and is expected to jump to over 324,000 by 2011. Come 2026, it's expected to climb to over 470,000.
